AMSEP Taiwan


Welcome delegates from Taiwan!!

The most exciting AMSA International programme, AMSEP (Asian Medical Students' Exchange Programme) was held in UPH on the early of last August 2012, which is at the very first week of UPH Faculty of Medicine the new 2012/2013 academic year.


We got very special guests from AMSA Taiwan Chapter.There are 9 delegates from AMSA Taiwan who always seem quite excited joining every activities scheduled by the AMSA UPH AMSEP Division. They are:

      1. Yu Shun Chieh – China Medical University
2.      Lin Yun Sheng – China Medical University
3.      Chiang Kuan Yu – China Medical University
4.      Chen Yu Jen – China Medical University
5.      Wu Po Yi – China Medical University
6.      Hsiao Shih Chi – Chung Shan Medical University
7.      Chen Ting An – Chung Shan Medical University
8.      Sy Yuan Chen – Chung Shan Medical University
9.      Chen Ya Wen – Chung Shan Medical University

There are so many exciting activities during their visit to UPH, Karawaci, and Jakarta. Even before the programme officialy opened in the welcoming party on the 5th of August, they had been in Jakarta on Saturday, and they were visiting several attractions in Jakarta and Bandung!

We know that every AMSA activities must include the 3 visions of AMSA: knowledge, action, and friendship. In the knowledge area, the delegates are introduced to UPH learning system and they were involved to join the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Class, Lectures, Clinical Skill Lab, and also Laboratory Practices. Beside the medical knowledge, they were also exposed to Indonesian culture knowledge by visiting the Old Batavia Town and Indonesian Beauty Miniature Park.

In the action area they did social action by visiting Patients in Siloam Hospitals Lippo Village. They  communicated and giving support to the patients. In the friendship area, which is the most exciting part of the programme, they were brought by AMSA UPH to many leisure places in Jakarta such as Grand Indonesia Shopping Town, Dunia Fantasi Amussement Park, and  The National Monument (Monas), the landmark of Jakarta. They also tried many Indonesian culinary such as Nasi Uduk (Savory Rice) Kebon Kacang, Martabak, and Padang Food. They were also asked to try to cook Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice) when they were visiting Top Food Company.




The last but not least, the final activities for them were very exciting, they were visiting Tidung Island. They did snorkeling on the Java Sea, get laugh on bonfire, and also trying fresh from the sea seafood. Finally, the 12th of August is the last day for them visiting Indonesia. It is so sad to say goodbye. Keep in touch guys!
